Student Life - Dance performer course (FAQ)

What are the criteria for selection?

We are looking for dancers who already have a solid base in classical dance and/or contemporary dance. Physical potential, clarity of movement, openess of mind, a desire to question the place of today's dancer, to confront oneself to the work of various artists and a capacity to observe are also important criteria for selection.

Will I receive a salary?

The Ballet Junior is made up of students in the dance-performer course from The Ecole de Danse de Genève. It is therefore not a professional company and the students do not receive a salary.

What are the fees?

Fees are 550.- Swiss Francs per month , from Septembre to June.
Enrollment tax: CHF 50.-

Do I have to enroll for the 3 years?

During the audition, it will be decided whether a dancer is to be admitted into the first, second or third year depending on their age, training level, experience and available places.

Are there any course scholarships?

The school is not in a position to offer study grants. Exceptionally, under certain circumstances and by written application, a financial arrangement can be awarded by the directors. Your application for an arrangement will only be considered when you have provided administration with written proof that all other financial aid attempts by the student in his/her own country have been turned down.

Even if you are not yet sure if you will be accepted or not, it is good to start looking around for scholarship funds in your own country, and start up the application procedure, because in many cases waiting until the final confirmation is after the application deadlines.
